Hello A2!

We have been given a unique and exciting opportunity to build a playground in one day at Toyon Park through a community build process. With the organizational help of KaBOOM!, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building playspaces, we will build this playground on Saturday, September 18, 2010! A2 EMERALD ELEPHANTS T-shirt Design Contest Rules

1. HOW TO ENTER
   1. Submit a T-shirt design must be ORIGINAL PIECE OF ARTWORK that pertains to the area theme, Emerald Elephants. The Work must be in a jpg, gif, or png file format. Entries MUST be emailed to area2@interact5170.org by 11:59:59 PM on September 18, 2010. No illegible, incomplete, forged or altered entries will be accepted. Entrants may enter as many t-shirt designs as they like.
   2. Design
      1. THEME: EMERALD ELEPHANTS!
      2. Don’t forget, t-shirts have a FRONT and BACK
      3. T-shirt color will most likely be green
      4. Encouraged to incorporate the Interact Logo
      5. Encouraged to incorporate  “Emerald Elephants”, “Area Two”, “Interact Club”, “Service Above Self”, etc.
      6. Schools in our Area: Arroyo High School, Castro Valley High School, Moreau Catholic High School, Redwood Christian High School, San Leandro High School
   3. THE WORK
      1. Must respect the Interact Logo, and must not tweak, crop, or change it in any way
      2. May not be inappropriate, offensive, sexually explicit, unlawful or plagiarized
      3. may not contain commercial/corporate advertising, and other trade marketed images found on the web
      4. if found to be in violation of these rules will be disqualified and therefore removed from the Contest
   4. By submitting entry, entrant agrees upon
      1. Being flexible with further changes being made to the design
2. Winners and Prizes
   1. The Area 2 board members will choose the winning design on September 19, 2010.
   2. If your design, or part of your design is chosen, YOU will have the opportunity to choose either FREE t-shirt or a free ticket to the Fall Leadership Conference!

HELLLLO AREA 2!! My name is Felicity Chen and I am your area director of the 2010-2011 school year :O. Get ready to know me because I have made it my personal goal to genuinely know each and every A2 Interact member, and hopefully that spreads through to the whole entire district! Area 2, home to the schools Arroyo High, Moreau Catholic High School, Redwood Christian, and San Leandro High, are notorious of our sea of black (“MIDNIGHT, MIDNIGHT YEAH YEAH!”), undying energy and influential spirit. I am excited and can’t wait to start working with a committed and inspired team of high schoolers to give to a greater community.

• What: As you may have seen on our homepage, this workshop is an opportunity for incoming and potential presidents to come together, build contact information and meet other Interact presidents in the district. Pizza will be provided!

Fall Leadership Conference

• When: Sunday, October 17^th
• What: Huge Interact District 5170 rally! Check back at our website for more details!
