Castro Valley Interact Teams Up During the Holidays!

Posted by Connie

s 2011 draws to the end, CV Interact was teamed up with Key Club, Teens Reaching Out and United Cause Club from CVHS to help collect cans from different regions in town. Over 80 students participated in this event and under all the members’ efforts, we collected over 1,400 lbs cans which was a successful achievement with everyone’s disbursements.

This event was meant to eliminate the rivalry that we have at Castro Valley High and is definitely served its purpose! Members of the different clubs were able to meet and cooperate with each other, all to help benefit our community.

Castro Valley Interact: Trick Or Canning!

Posted by Connie

On the night of Halloween, Castro Valley Interact went out and collected cans to donate to the Alameda County Food Bank! Despite all the hard work and tiring walking, everyone still had an amazing time and were able to collect candy as well! Over 60 determined interactors were able to collect over 2,600 pounds of food in less than 4 hours! These hard workers were willing to sacrifice a Monday night to contribute to their community, many of them not being able to get home until 10:30PM!

We collected from 2 different neighborhoods in our small town. Trick Or Canning, being one of Castro Valley Interact’s long lived traditions, is always successful and appreciated. People from Castro Valley always look forward to it and willing to donate a lot more as a thanks to the Interactor’s hard work as well as a contribution to their community.

Lining up the food outside of the classroom before we start emptying the bags!

Interactors working hard when unloading all the bags and boxes of food!

2 extremely dedicated Interactors that worked extremely hard in their cute outfits! Karishma Khatri and CV Secretary Tiffany Wong!

Over 2,600 pounds? Saving our community? Yeah, no big deal for Interact. It’s what we do on the daily!
