Halloween Haunt

Who? You and all your friends and family

When? Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday of October from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

What? Enjoy many nights of frights at Paramount’s Great America, in Milpitas

How? Print out a coupon(for the discounted price), and grab all your friends for a fun time.

Why? For Every ticket purchased with this coupon, part of the proceeds will go to Interact.

End Polio Now Walk and Lighting of the Ferry Building

On October 24, 2010 at the Golden Gate Bridge. Rotary will be hosting an End Polio Now Walk across the bridge. 

Our last year project was “End Polio Now” and we raised $75,000 dollars. Registration begins at 11:00a.m. and the walk begins at 2:00p.m. This event is completely free and we will also be offering community service hours. There will also be a free shirt and certificate at the end. This will be one of the biggest events of the year with an expected of thousands of interacters and also Rotarians. BUT, most importantly you should go to see the Rotary International president.

There will also be a lighting starting at 6:00p.m. Try to find carpool or another transportation because it will get packed.

Take Flight for Kids

This will be the very first district community service project. On Setpember 25, 2010 from 8:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. The community service project will be located Reid Hillview Airport in San Jose (the airport next to EASTRIDGE) or the exact address: 2500 Cunningham Ave, San Jose,CA.

Why: This festival is to inform the middle school students and families of Silicon Valley of the Science, Technology, Engineering education opportunities, community resources for families in need, and to promote Interact and Rotary throughout San Jose. There will be about 200 exhibits with hands-on activities for the students to learn about, and about 5,000 attendees expected, so you can imagine how busy it will be!

Volunteering: Please advertise this event to all your clubs and encourage others to go! A festival does not come often, and one this large where Interact receives this caliber of representation is a must. All of the volunteers register at http://www.takeflightforkids.com/volunteer.htm and please send me an email(communityservice@interact5170.org)  if you are going so Ryan can get a good number to report back to the coordinator.

AREA 13

Whatss up AREA 13, my name is Boshiaw Hsu, but a lot of people call me by bo or bobo and im your new AREA 13 director for the year of 2010-2011. I hope to meet a lot of new people this year and I hope your all PUMPED for the new Interact year.I am really EXCITED about this year and I hope all of you are too. I love to meet new people and to do community service. I promise to do the best to my abilities to all the fundraisers and events.
