SF Chinese New Year Parade Volunteers Needed!

Posted by Erika

Happy Year of the Dragon!

Once again the Asian Liver Center at Stanford will be at the San Francisco Chinese New Year Festival. This year, non profit has also been invited to join the San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade. This is your chance to reach millions with our life-saving message since the parade is televised!

Parade
We need everyone – adults and all students (elementary through college) to be dragons (we have an awesome 40′ dragon!), lantern marchers, and more. You must attend 2 training sessions, including one on Saturday, January 28. More details and date of the second session will be provided at the first meeting.

Outreach Education Booth
We need high school, college students, and adults to educate festival goers about hepatitis B and liver cancer. Your job? Convince them to get tested for hep B. Mandatory training and orientation for this role is on Friday, February 3rd. All languages are welcome, though Cantonese speakers are especially needed for the booth.

We will not be able to accommodate all volunteers, so sign up quickly.
